So, I was recently gifted a new iPod Touch – woot woot! And I love love love it!! I’m being super careful with it, you know, trying not to drop it, or scratch the screen, or.. drop it. I’ve been pretty wary of just tossing it into my handbag when I take it anywhere, so I decided to knit up a little cozy for my new treasure!
Ta da – my new Felted iPod Cozy!
I’ve only felted things a couple of times before, but am always very pleased with the results. It’s amazing how much a knitted item changes with a spin in the washing machine!
Exhibit one: The knit cozy, pre-felting:
And, the final results:
Love my new cozy, and am now not as afraid to have my new toy bumping around my purse! And, I was able to knit it up in just an afternoon – although I didn’t get around to felting it for about a week or so.
Pattern: Felted iPod Cozy (ravelry link), by Bonne Sennott
Yarn: Cascade 220, 100%wool – leftover scraps from another project
Needles: size US10 DPNs
Mods: I didn’t make any mods with this, but if I were to make it again, I think I’d use a smaller needle to get a tighter fabric, and I’d knit it almost an inch shorter.
Turns out, iPods were not the only thing getting cozy around here….
